Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of BillMyItems. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't sign up.

The service

BillMyItemsis a cloud-based point-of-sale, billing, inventory and accounting platform offered as a subscription. We provide the service "as-is" and improve it continuously. We may add, modify, or retire features; we'll give reasonable notice for breaking changes.

Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 18 and authorised to bind the business you're signing up for.
• One account per business. Add staff users from inside the app instead of sharing credentials.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

Subscription & billing

• We offer a free trial. After the trial, continued use requires an active paid subscription.
• Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period (monthly, 1 year, or 3 year). You can cancel any time from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
• Prices are listed on the pricing page in the currency of your country. Taxes are added where applicable.
• We may change prices for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice. Your current period is honoured at the price you signed up for.
• Refunds are evaluated case-by-case. Email info@billmyitems.com to request one within 7 days of a payment.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for illegal activity or to circumvent tax laws.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service without our written permission. Responsible disclosure is welcome at info@billmyitems.com.
• Resell, white-label, or sublicense the service without a separate written agreement.
• Use the service to send spam, malware, or any content that infringes a third party's rights.

Breach of acceptable use may result in immediate suspension and termination of your account.

Your data, your IP

Everything you put into BillMyItems(your products, parties, invoices, ledgers) stays yours. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and serve that data back to you (and your authorised users) as needed to run the service. We don't claim any ownership.

You can export your data at any time from inside the app. On cancellation we retain a backup for 30 days, then permanently delete unless legally required to keep it longer (e.g. tax records).

Our IP

The BillMyItemssoftware, brand, logos, and documentation are owned by us. The subscription is a right to use, not a transfer of ownership. Don't copy, modify, or redistribute the software.

Service availability

We aim for high availability but don't guarantee 100% uptime. Scheduled maintenance is notified at least 48 hours in advance where possible. Unscheduled downtime due to causes beyond our reasonable control (network outages, third-party providers, force majeure) is not a breach of these terms.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or business opportunities.

Termination

• You may cancel at any time. The service remains active until the end of your paid period.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, fail to pay, or pose a security risk.
• On termination, sections that by nature should survive (data ownership, limitation of liability, IP, governing law) continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product or applicable law evolves. Material changes are emailed to account owners and posted here at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator of BillMyItems is incorporated. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in that location.
